Western New York

Irish Famine Memorial Mass Committee

The 13th annual WNY Famine Mass and Commemoration,

sponsored by

WNY Irish Famine Memorial Committee, Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 10 am

Buffalo Irish Famine Memorial

located at the Buffalo waterfront.

Celebrants for this year's Mass:

Msgr J. Patrick Keleher, Director of the UB Newman Center-North Campus and Chaplain of the St. Vincent DePaul Society; Fr. Jack Mattimore SJ, Chaplain of the Buffalo Immigration Detention Center; and

Fr. Richard Coveney retired.

The Music Ministry, coordinated by Kindred will include Comhaltas musicians, St. Mary's Road, Amhrán O'Ciar, and many of the talented singers that abound in the Irish and Irish American community. All proceeds from the Offertory Collection will go to help feed the hungry served by our local St. Vincent DePaul Society mission and to GOAL, an international humanitarian agency dedicated to alleviating the suffering of the poorest of the poor.

To offset the high costs associated with this beautiful Mass, the committee will create a Mass Program Booklet which will include sponsors in the form of an advertisement. For a modest fee of eighty dollars ($80) full page, forty-five dollars ($45) half page or thirty dollars ($30) quarter page, your company or organization can lend its support to our efforts and help to fight hunger in Western New York and on an international level.

We also offer the opportunity for personal, one-line ads at a cost of five dollars ($5).

We are hopeful that you will be willing to consider a full, half or quarter page ad for your business, organization or personal remembrance.

Tickets for the luncheon at Adam's Mark, which immediately follows the Mass, are also available at a cost of $15.

Reservations can be made by calling Sheila Barrett-824-8871, Sharon Charleson-835-0684, Betty Everett-633-5977, or the Tara Gift Shoppe-825-6700.
