The 12thAnnual Famine Commemoration Mass

St. Vincent DePaul and GOAL* will be the recipients of the monetary collection during the Offertory at the 12th Annual Famine Commemoration Mass at the Memorial on the Waterfront on July 31st at 10 am.. The non-perishable food will go to St. Vincent DePaul also.

This mass will be celebrated by Father Jack Mattimore SJ. Members of the local Irish and Irish American organizations, clubs, and dancing schools will participate in the Entrance Procession, proclaim the scriptures, take up the offerings, and serve as Eucharistic Ministers. Music and song will be led by Kindred who will be assisted by Amhrán O'Ciar, Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, and the Leftovers.

Attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chairs and umbrellas should the weather require them. Rain venue is Ss. Columba Brigid Church on Hickory and North Division Street.

A luncheon at Chefs Restaurant on Seneca Street at a cost of $15 person will follow the mass. Tickets are available at the Dublin House, the Tara Gift Shoppe or by calling Betty@633-5977, Sharon @ 835-0684 or Sheila @ 824-8871 for tickets. Reservation deadline is Wednesday, July 28th.
