Sa Chistin

( pronounced: sa hish chin)

Sa Chistin (In the Kitchen) is a cookbook created to feature a depiction of the abundance and the variety of savory foods to be found in Ireland today. In its construction the committee sought to present a visualization of how the Irish culinary talent has evolved since the times our people were dependent on one food, one staple…the potato.

Proceeds from the sale of this cookbook have a twofold purpose: -to help defray the cost of activities held at the Famine Monument on the Waterfront -contribute to the work of GOAL an Irish philanthropic organization that has been addressing the needs of those who live in famine and poverty around the world.

Sa Chistin will be introduced at the Famine to Plenty pot luck dining experience on Sunday, October 24th, 2011 (4 pm 'til 9 pm) in the Emerald Ballroom at the Buffalo Irish Center.
